Pair your plate with something from our cocktail menu, or sip on a pint from our rotating tap, featuring brews from Hook Norton Brewery.

End with a Classic British Pudding

Of course, no Sunday lunch is complete without dessert. Our puds celebrate the best of traditional British baking. From sticky toffee pudding to fruit crumble, warm chocolate brownie, or a scoop of ice cream or sorbet.

Make a Day of It in Bampton

Located in one of Oxfordshire’s most picturesque villages—also known as a filming location for Downton Abbey, The Market Tavern is the perfect destination for a lazy Sunday in the Cotswolds.

Before or after your roast, take a stroll along The Downton Mile, a short walking route that takes you past Bampton’s most iconic filming spots. It’s a lovely way to explore the village, soak up the atmosphere, and work up an appetite.

And if you don’t feel like rushing home, you can even stay the night. Our boutique rooms are designed for comfort, charm, and a proper Oxfordshire escape.
